ASAP MEMBERSHIP PLANS

 

ASAP offers national and local fellowship, a networking for referrals, and the opportunity to enhance your clinical skills.  ASAP:

  • Acts both as a professional network for its members and a specialized community dedicated to education, development, and advocacy for adolescents and the adolescent mental health field.
  • Provides a forum and voice for like-minded professionals concerned with adolescent mental health and advocacy.
  • Conducts a high quality Annual Continuing Education Program which provides opportunities for CME and CEU credit.
  • Promotes new knowledge and improved practices through publication of the quarterly journal Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Publishes a newsletter that provides news of upcoming events and developments of interest to ASAP members.
  • Recognizes distinguished individuals who have contributed to the welfare of adolescents.
  • Sponsors Task Forces on critical issues.
  • Joins in coalition with other organizations in policy advocacy efforts.

PSYCHIATRISTS:  Eligibility for ASAP membership for psychiatrists requires either membership or qualify for membership with the American Psychiatric Association (APA) or the Canadian Psychiatric Association (CPA).

MEMBERS-IN-TRAINING:  Residents currently enrolled in approved psychiatric residency programs are eligible to become members-in-training. Dues are waived the first year and are assessed at $57 per year thereafter (waived if resident/fellow does a poster session or participates in a presentation at the prior year’s annual meeting and/or demonstrates active attendance and participation in an ASAP committee or Governing Board the prior year).

ASSOCIATE MEMBERS: A person with education, training, and a post-baccalaureate degree in a mental health or related field can become an Associate Member. This includes psychologists, social workers, nurses, physician extenders, counselors, non-psychiatrist physicians, and marriage and family therapists.  An Associate Member shall be licensed to practice in his/her field, and be a member of his/her discipline’s national organization or be eligible for membership.

Membership applications are reviewed by the Membership Committee. ASAP may make inquiries about the applicant’s training and professional qualifications, if deemed necessary.

Applications submitted after June 30 should include half of the annual membership fee for the current year.

  • Regular Members/Fellows:  $285.00
  • Age 65+ Senior Career Psychiatrist:  $185.00
  • Life Fellows/Members  $171.00
  • Early Career Psychiatrists:  $185.00
  • Members in Training: First Year FREE (subsequent years waived if substantiated)
  • Associate Members:  $150.00

  • New York Society for Adolescent Psychiatry (NYSAP):  $55.00

 Journal Subscription (per year):

  • Adolescent Psychiatry (Printed):  $95.00
